Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 Pay: £14.79 per hour (including shift allowance) Hours: Rotating shifts – 6:00am–2:00pm / 2:00pm–10:00pm Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Our client is a successful and growing international manufacturing business supplying engineered products and solutions to customers across infrastructure and construction-related markets. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mould Technician to join their manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role responsible for the installation, removal, setting and commissioning of compression mould tools on large hydraulic presses, helping to maintain high standards of safety, quality and production efficiency. Key Responsibilities * Install, remove, set and commission mould tools on hydraulic presses up to approximately 1,200 tonnes. * Carry out efficient tool changeovers, supporting SMED and minimising production downtime. * Set press parameters, cure cycles and temperature controls to achieve first-off quality. * Connect and disconnect hydraulic, steam and cooling services. * Safely operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks during tooling movements. * Troubleshoot tooling and process issues and work with Production and Quality teams to resolve defects. * Carry out tooling inspections, preventative maintenance and cleaning. * Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, 5S and housekeeping. * Support continuous improvement, OEE and waste reduction initiatives. Key Requirements * Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent; NVQ Level 3 desirable. * Proven experience with large industrial mould tools and hydraulic compression presses, ideally up to 1,200 tonnes or similar. * Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and experience with steam-heated/temperature-controlled tooling. * Mechanical fitting and fault-finding experience. * Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings. * Previous manufacturing experience. * Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence and Overhead Crane certification. * Strong understanding of safe working practices, including LOTOTO and lifting operations. * Strong attention to detail, communication and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work rotating shifts and respond flexibly to production requirements. Experience with thermoset composite moulding, SMED, 5S, OEE and preventative maintenance would be advantageous.
