Job Description
Basildon | EHS Officer We are seeking an experienced EHS Officer to join our manufacturing team in Basildon. Must have manufacturing experience Salary💷 £35,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience Hours Monday – Thursday: 8.00am - 17.00pm Friday - 8.00am to 12.00pm Benefits * Competitive salary * Company pension scheme * 25 days annual leave + 8 statutory holidays, Christmas shut down * Death in Service benefit * Long Service awards Purpose of role and accountabilities: * Support compliance with EHS legislation, company standards and site procedures. * Conduct workplace inspections, internal and external audits and risk assessments. * Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. * Coordinate EHS training, inductions and awareness activities. * Maintain EHS records, reports and performance data. * Support emergency preparedness, fire safety and occupational health programmes. * Monitor contractor and employee compliance with safe working practices. * Promote a proactive safety culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Core skills/attributes needed: * NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH or equivalent * Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment. * Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and risk assessment processes. * Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. * Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO50001 is desirable. You should have sincere concern for the health and wellness of all employees. A high level of enthusiasm, the ability to think positively, and vision-casting are also key criteria that should be considered.
