Job Description
Laboratory Technician Altera Recruitment Group is partnering with a specialist fuels and energy business operating within the downstream oil, automotive, aerospace and motorsport sectors. The business is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join its Technical Services Team and play a key role in the delivery of complex projects and bespoke fuel formulation. This is an opportunity for a technically minded Chemistry graduate with laboratory and project experience to take ownership of multiple projects from start to finish. Key Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician * Manage multiple projects from start to finish, ensuring agreed lead times and right first-time criteria are achieved * Independently formulate a wide range of fuel blends using formulation models and empirical blending techniques * Troubleshoot technical issues across production, logistics and commercial activities * Support raw material specification, sourcing, testing and approval, as well as identifying new product applications * Provide technical support to customers while mentoring other members of the Technical Services Team Candidate Requirements * Degree in Chemistry or an equivalent qualification is essential * Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience, with familiarity with standard fuel test methods * Previous project experience with the ability to manage multiple activities through to completion * Strong technical, analytical, communication and problem solving skills * A strong HSE focus with excellent attention to detail and accuracy What's on Offer * Circa £35,000 salary * 10% discretionary bonus * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays * Private Healthcare and Pension available * Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm, 37.5 hours per week, office based with potential for 1 to 2 days working from home following completion of training If you are a Chemistry graduate with relevant laboratory experience and an interest in fuel formulation, technical projects and the wider energy sector, Altera Recruitment Group would welcome the opportunity to speak with you
