Job Description
Project Manager - Large-Scale Energy Infrastructure (PV & BESS)
Germany | Full-time | Permanent
We're supporting the growth of a well-established renewable energy business delivering utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across Germany and selected international markets. They are now looking to appoint a Project Manager to take ownership of complex energy infrastructure projects from late-stage development through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
This is a delivery-focused role sitting at the heart of multi-MW PV and BESS projects, where strong construction/project management experience is more important than deep energy sector background - the technical energy knowledge can be taught.
The role
You'll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, working closely with internal engineering teams, external contractors, EPC partners, planners, and suppliers.
Core responsibilities include:
Leading full project lifecycle delivery from planning through to commissioning and handover
Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
Coordinating multiple stakeholders across construction, engineering, and grid interfaces
Managing time, cost, quality, and safety performance across all project phases
Identifying and mitigating project risks and ensuring delivery certainty
Acting as the central point of contact for all project-related communication
Ensuring compliance with technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards
Supporting site activities including construction oversight and progress tracking
What we're looking for
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or similar
Proven experience delivering large-scale construction or infrastructure projects (energy, utilities, plant, civil works, or similar environments)
Strong project management capability with excellent organisational skills
Experience coordinating multiple contractors and technical stakeholders
Confident handling of budgets, schedules, and reporting structures
Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with project planning tools is beneficial
Willingness to travel within Germany (approx. 20-50%)
Strong German language skills required; English advantageous
What's on offer
Full ownership of high-value renewable energy projects (10MW+ scale)
Clear progression within a growing project delivery environment
Exposure to both solar PV and battery energy storage portfolios
Modern, flexible working environment with strong team culture
Competitive salary and benefits package
Opportunity to shape delivery processes as the business scales
About the business
The company is a long-standing renewable energy developer and EPC operator with around 25 years in the market, active across PV, battery storage, and integrated energy solutions. Alongside its established solar portfolio, it is rapidly scaling its large-scale storage and hybrid project pipeline across Germany and international markets
