Quantity Surveyor | Fire Doors & Passive Fire | Rainham, Essex | Permanent
I’m working with a young, rapidly growing specialist contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial capability as the business continues to expand.
They specialise in fire doors, FRA works and roofing, predominantly operating as a subcontractor across healthcare, residential, commercial and public sector projects.
The Role
Commercial management of fire door / FRA packages
• Managing multiple live projects across different sectors
• Estimating, tendering and pricing new work
• Valuations, variations and applications
• Cost control and commercial reporting
• Managing projects commercially through to final account
• Working directly alongside the Directors as the business grows
• Office-based in Rainham, Essex
What they're looking for
Quantity Surveyor with strong fire door / passive fire experience
• Ideally around 6–8 years' commercial experience, although they're flexible for the right person
• Strong understanding of pricing and commercially managing specialist packages
• Estimating experience highly advantageous
• Subcontractor background preferred
• More interested in relevant experience and the individual than having a perfect CV
• Open to someone moving from freelance into a permanent position
The Business
Young, close-knit team with a relaxed office environment
• Approximately 10 live projects currently
• Current work includes a 200-door package on a major project in King's Cross
• Strong existing relationships with larger contractors and framework partners
• Significant growth ambitions, with the Directors believing the existing client network can support considerably greater turnover
• Opportunity to join early and play a genuine role in building the commercial function as the company scales
